On Thursday, 6th August 2026, the Minister of Lands and Urban Development, Honourable Chimwemwe Chipungu, engaged with the Chief Executive Officer of the Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), Mr. Bob Chimkango ,and his team to discuss the way forward and explore innovative approaches to further strengthen Malawi’s housing sector.

During the meeting, the Minister shared lessons from other countries, including Morocco, where the integration of green spaces has contributed to the development of beautiful, sustainable, and well-planned cities.

Hon. Chipungu emphasized that as the country continues advancing its housing agenda, there is a need to embrace modern approaches that not only provide decent and affordable housing but also promote clean, green, and attractive communities that enhance the quality of life for all Malawians.
